…. and the year is 2015

On 18th July 2015, we opened our new extension at the Club. Dame Angela Watkinson MP ‘cut the ribbon’ to declare the extension open – and this was followed by the Club’s first ever Murder Mystery. Also attending was Melvin Wallace the Head of Culture and Leisure at Havering Council. The evening was a great success and the new extension will enable us to expand our growing itinerary of events still further – and welcome even more new members!

Two of our own make it to the OLYMPIC STADIUM

Roy and Mary Dudley have a novel way to celebrate their GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY. They signed up for the National Lottery Anniversary Run.

Roy & Mary

Roy and his younger wife were amongst the oldest runners. It goes to show that regular bowling can keep you fit. Roy and Mary have been members of the Harold Hill Bowls Club for over 10 years and have won many trophies. All at HHBC would like to congratulate Roy and Mary and wish them good luck for the future and many more years together.

Two of our own make it to 60 years together ….

… and more CONGRATULATIONS from all their friends at the HHBC go to Wally and Vera Murphy. Wally and Vera recently celebrated a tremendous achievement – married for 60 years. Married all those years ago in Millwall, they are still frequent visitors to the Club – with Wally being one of the “better” bowlers! So congratulations Wally and Vera. Enjoy many more years together!

When it comes to murder, these are your couple ……

In October, a group of Club members attended a Murder Mystery weekend. And it was soon no mystery to a couple of our Club members! Cliff and Joy Causton solved both the murder and the motive, with great panache and aplomb! They also carried off the first prize of wine and a framed certificate – a prize presented by the great detective, Hercule Poirrot! Well done to Cliff and Joy, and if we ever have a murder at the Club, we’ll know who to call upon!
